Can surfing reprogram Veterans brains? When veterans surf it helps them with PTSD which stands for post-traumatic stress disorder. The symptoms of PTSD include flashbacks, vivid nightmares, traumatic memories, and intense sense of sadness. Surfing helps, because it makes the veterans more relaxed. It helps them not think about all the horrible things they went through.  According to British war veterans, “Surfing is like having PTSD pummeled out of their by the force of waves.”  The veterans are becoming more involved with this activity. This is a great way to help someones post-traumatic stress disorder.
